These sleeping coaches were the first sleeping coaches of Mitropa which were ordered on their own account. The coaches were technically similar to the hechtcoaches and to the sleeping coaches which were ordered in 1921 and 1923 by the DRG. The coaches were mainly in service in the trains to Scandinavia. The coaches were renumbered to 20 801 and 20 839 (not consecutively) when Mitropa introduced her new numberscheme in 1926.
