After the war, 20 locomotives were able to use in passenger train services, 6 locomotives were going to the DB and 14 locomotives were going to the DR. After the renumbering, the DB gave these locomotives the indication 104. 6 locomotives were renumbered, the E 04 17 upto E 04 22 were renumbered to 104 017 upto 022. The last locomotive which was set aside in 1981 was the 104 018. The locomotives 104 020 and 204 001 (DR) are preserved.
