Coaches Bauart 1926

The compartment coaches of Bauart 1925 had undergone a couple of constructive changes. These changes were made perfect with the express train coaches of Bauart 1926.

The coaches from 1926 were made of steel instead of metal. The length of the coaches was lengthened for all coaches Bauart 1926 to 20.420 mm, and 21.720 mm length with buffers included. The roofs of the coaches were not any more getting smaller towards the end of coaches as it was with the sidewalls, but the roofs were as wide as in the middle of the coach. There appeared a sort of overhang above the entrance doors, because the coach ends remained getting smaller towards the ends.

The to the outside turning revolving doors at the coach ends were replaced by sliding doors. These doors had the advantage that they were closed when the train was riding, so the insulation of the coaches was better. Also the operation of the awnings was improved by changing the mechanism of the handles.

To furnish the compartments there was co-operation with artists who came to the following furnishings arrangement:

  • 1st class
Gray-green pluche upholstery with loose pillows, a not with each other connected backrest and headrest. Folding tables, luggage nets, sidewalls covered with black fabric and carpet on the floor.
  • 2th class
Gray striped upholstery of seats. Folding tables, luggage nets and linoleum on the floor.
  • 3th class
Wooden benches with armrests near the window and corridor. Folding tables, luggage nets, and sidewalls covered with wood.

In the second and third class compartments and corridors were advertisements placed to the walls. In the corridors were fire extinguishers and first-aid boxes placed. The compartments first and second class had mirrors.
