E 16.1

After the war only the E 16 18 was damaged. The other locomotives were put into service at the DB. With the main overhaul between 1948 and 1951 the covers along the driving wheels were removed. Like the E 16, the E 16.1 was only in service in the passenger services in the Southern part of Germany. After the renumbering, the locomotives got in 1968 the indication 116. Together with the E 16, the locomotives E 16 01 upto 10 and E 16 14 upto 21 were renumbered to 116 001 upto 010 and 116 014 upto 021.

In the mid sixties the services of these locomotives were decreased and at the beginning of the seventies these locomotives were only riding local and regional trains. Finally in 1977 the last locomotives were set aside.
